David Bartley has been a staple of the Berkshire Jazz scene for more than a decade playing jazz and blues piano in a variety of settings and ensembles. Benny Kohn is a Berkshire based pianist/singer/composer.  Some of his major influences include: Ray Charles, Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder, Dr John, Bill Evans, Keith Jarrett, Chick Corea, Oscar Peterson, Billy Joel, The Beatles, and countless others. 

Benny enjoys joining forces with many local artists including Wanda Houston, Gina Coleman, Glori Wilder, The O-tones, Ed Moran, Andy Wrba, Samirah Evans, Hot Sauce, Chantell McFarland, The Rejuvinators, Rev Tor and many others.  Benny can also be found playing solo and leading his own combos.

Chantell, is a classically trained Berkshire County transplant from Chicago.

In her early career, Chantell performed on studio albums for PBS and Sesame Street. Recently, she has studied and performed with Broadway producers as well as opened for Yo-Yo ma and Manny Ax in a concert of hope dedicated to essential workers. 

Her passion and love for music and people are intrinsic within her vocal arrangements and songwriting. 

Whether she is sharing the stage or performing solo, her voice and is not one you want to miss!

Quarteto de Samba is a musical journey to Brazil. Led by Tarcisio (Taz).  Taz's passion for his cultural heritage and his band mates, Sam, Henry and Jean, drives the band's mission to spread musical diversity in western mass and beyond.

Quarteto de Samba is a kaleidoscope of Brazilian sounds from Samba to Bossa Nova, from Brazilian funk to Choro, and Forró. With each song, they transport audiences to the lively streets of Rio de Janeiro or the cozy cafes of São Paulo.

At the heart of the ensemble are four dedicated musicians, each committed to celebrating and preserving Brazilian musical traditions as well as adding their own spice to the performance. Sam Stouffer on the percussion plays the quintessential Brazilian Pandeiro, Henry Davidson plays the Brazilian guitar, while Jean plays the mandolin and accordion adding layers of texture and depth to the band's sound.

Taz serves as both lead vocalist and instrumentalist, switching between the flute and cavaquinho. Together, their voices unite in traditional call and response fashion, creating a unique Brazilian atmosphere.

WHAT IS A DEATH CAFÉ?

It’s a guided group discussion where people come together to talk openly + candidly about life, mortality, death, dying, + related topics. Death Café serves our community as a doorway into the shared exploration of our love of life and respect for death.

The aim of a Death Café is not to provide grief counseling or to promote any particular religious or spiritual beliefs, but rather to encourage honest conversations with the goal of promoting greater awareness and acceptance of death as a natural part of life. It’s an inclusive, safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space where people can share their thoughts, experiences, and questions about death in a respectful and supportive environment. A place for exchanges and deep listening as well as a space where you can practice being brave.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

Death Café is free + open to anyone who wants to talk about death. All are welcome from hospice workers, doulas, the terminally ill, elderly, those experiencing a loss to the death-curious. Please have anyone ages 16 or younger be accompanied by an adult.

Limited soup n salad menu available + pastries and coffee drinks from the cafe side. Pull up a chair and enjoy each others company.

The Death Café will be hosted by Rebecca Churt, a death doula in training and founder of the online grief community, THE GRIEVERY.

This Sunday Dottie’s welcomes new to Dottie’s, Michael Aaron.

Inspired by music icons from past decades, Michael Aaron projects a familiar, but new sound, while bringing back the lyrical tellings of the classic American singer-songwriter.

Live music 10am-12pm our full menu available and coffee bar open till closing at 2.
